Job Summary
Provide safe, knowledgeable care to patients across clinic and surgical settings by interviewing for medical history, measuring vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations. Assist physicians with procedures by handing instruments, administering medications following safety protocols, and performing tasks such as injections and suture removal. Collect and log laboratory specimens, perform routine tests, and maintain sterile fields while ensuring proper consent forms are obtained. Schedule appointments, manage inventory, and respond to emergencies by assessing patient conditions and notifying staff of any distress. Document all procedures accurately and maintain clean treatment rooms and medical equipment between patients.
Required Qualifications
- One (1)+ year experience in a medical setting
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and medications
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
- Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
- Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needs
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Mathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solving
- Basic to intermediate computer operation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position
- general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
