Job Summary
Provide safe, knowledgeable, compassionate care to patients in clinic and surgical settings by interviewing patients for medical history, measuring vital signs, and preparing them for examinations. Administer medications following safety protocols, collect laboratory specimens, and perform routine tests while maintaining sterile fields during procedures. Assist physicians with exams and surgeries by handing instruments, giving injections, removing sutures, and changing wound dressings. Schedule appointments, manage inventory, and ensure proper disposal of biohazard materials. Respond to emergencies, assist with patient crises, and document all procedures accurately. Adhere to facility policies and HIPAA guidelines while supporting a culture of high-quality customer service.
Required Qualifications
- One (1)+ year experience in a medical setting
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and medications
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Management and organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
- Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
- Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needs
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Mathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solving
- Basic to intermediate computer operation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position
- general understanding of HIPAA guidelines
