Job Summary
Medical Assistant performs patient intake, initial triage, and direct patient care under general supervision in an outpatient clinical setting. Responsibilities include triage and flow of patients to providers, performing routine procedures such as EKGs, immunizations, ear lavage, sterile dressing changes, nebulizer treatments, and suture removal, maintaining exam rooms and supply stock, ensuring safety and infection-control practices, and delivering excellent customer service. Training may be provided for enthusiastic candidates. Requires familiarity with healthcare regulations and clinic procedures; certification or equivalent clinical training preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant or equivalent clinical training and certification preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations
- Basic computer knowledge
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to greet patients and answer phones professionally
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers and patients
