Job Summary
Medical Advisor to provide the scientific foundation for the Therapeutic Area (TA) medical strategy, oversee the execution of the medical affairs plan, engage key thought leaders, facilitate the flow of medical developments to the sales and marketing team, and contribute to the development of the Medical Affairs strategic plan for identified Therapeutic Area (TA) and products. Responsibilities include serving as a core scientific member of the cross-functional franchise team, conceptualizing and managing medical activities (research, publications, medical education, patient support programs), engaging thought leaders, and ensuring optimal execution of the medical affairs plan through Regional Medical Affairs, including medical education and product education. Act as a therapeutic area scientific expert, discuss data with specialists, and provide training on latest medical developments to the sales and marketing teams.
Required Qualifications
- Educational qualification-MBBS with M.D. Pharmacology/Medicine or full time post-graduate qualification in any discipline of medicine
- Minimum work experience- 2-4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or research company in a Medical Advisor capacity
- Training in medical writing, clinical trial methodologies, ICH – GCP will be added advantage
- Must have working knowledge of Indian regulations pertaining to Health care professional’s interactions (MCI code of ethics for doctors & UCPMP Code for Pharma) and Drugs and Cosmetic Act regulations pertaining to clinical trials and new drug approvals
- Strong academic record with deep knowledge of the therapeutic area, strength in research with knowledge of research methodologies and interpretation of medical data
- Strategic mind set with scientific acumen and communication skills in order to be accepted by leading specialists in peer-to-peer relationship is essential
