Job Summary
Coordinate and manage applicant portfolios while conducting financial fact-finding interviews with patients seeking Medicaid or community benefits. Complete applicable applications, gather supporting documents, and enter clear notes into patient accounting systems. Monitor eligibility for Medicaid and other coverage plans as required. Work as a team player to meet personal and group goals while adhering to all policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations. Requires 1 year of call center experience, bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, and familiarity with electronic health records. Schedule is 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of previous call center experience (In-office or Remote)
- High School Diploma/GED
- Bilingual in English & Spanish
- Experience with electronic health record or similar software program
- Proficiency with PC-based applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- May work occasional evenings and Saturdays
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- As a condition of employment, a pre-employment background check will be conducted
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, Medicaid, Medicare, and Insurance
- Experience with medical billing/claims processing
- Time management and sound decision-making skills
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations, including those that escalate
