Media Specialist

Job Summary
Establishes and operates an effective school media program to support the instructional goals of the school. Plans collaboratively with faculty for information access skills instruction and to incorporate resources into instruction; assists in selection, location, and use of media materials; promotes instructional technologies in teaching and learning; conducts inservice activities for faculty. Leads the media committee to guide media plan, policies, and procedures; schedules the media center; supervises staff and volunteers; analyzes and improves the collection to align with curriculum; oversees processing, cataloging, shelving, and inventory; maintains automated circulation and financial records. Reports to the Principal and performs all other duties as assigned. Requires a Master's degree in School Library Media and a Georgia teaching certificate (S-5 or above); normal school setting in the library; readiness to stand/walk for long periods and occasional light lifting; salary scales referenced for 2026-2027 not yet available. Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in School Library Media
- Georgia teaching certificate (S-5 or above)
- Excellent classroom management
- Normal school setting primarily in the Library
- Stand and walk approximately 7 to 7.5 hours per day
- Light lifting 20 lbs or less
