Job Summary
Assess learning and information needs of students and staff, then plan and collaborate with teachers to integrate information literacy into day-to-day instruction. Lead the school's use of instructional technology by designing digital citizenship lessons and providing professional development, coaching, and co-teaching activities. Manage the media center by maintaining accurate inventories of print and electronic resources, evaluating collection development, and ensuring flexible access for students and staff. Evaluate the school library media program on a continual basis to ensure quality and adherence to intellectual freedom principles.
Required Qualifications
- North Carolina K-12 School Library Media Coordinator 076 certification
- Master's Degree in School Library Information Science
Desired Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Experience in providing information literacy support services in an educational setting
- Experience in developing instructional materials for adult learners and presenting staff development both live on online
- Knowledge of contemporary instructional technology trends and issues
