Media Relations Manager

Job Summary
Lead identification and securing earned-media opportunities for the firm across Kentucky and Indiana; develop and maintain relations with reporters/editors at legal, business, trade publications, and regional law schools; craft and execute PR-focused communications plans for practice areas and firm initiatives; draft and disseminate news releases on firm news, partner hires, deals, accolades, pro bono work, and speaking engagements; manage timely posting of news items to internal portals and social channels; draft internal communications for firm management; support firm social media efforts (e.g., LinkedIn); spearhead credentialing with industry sources (Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers); provide PR support for ad hoc projects; require strong writing/editing skills, MS Office proficiency, and ability to travel; travel may be required; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work independently and with teams; commitment to confidentiality and firm values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Five to seven years of experience in a similar public relations role; law firm, public relations agency or professional services firm preferred
