Job Summary

Collaborate with instructors, clients, and production teams to record, edit, and produce content in university studios. Configure studio equipment, troubleshoot issues with video routing, cabling, lighting, and audio devices, and perform on-the-spot break/fix repairs. Manage post-production workflows for assigned projects and occasionally serve as the operating engineer for studio productions. Explore and experiment with new live broadcast production and recording technologies alongside full-time staff and student Production Engineers. This role supports the STELAR media production team and Media Services Central Engineering staff to adopt emerging technologies into existing infrastructure.

  • Ability to stay focused and attentive—willing to put personal phone aside on shift
  • Strong interest in broadcast media production systems technologies
  • High comfort level with computers and emerging media technologies
  • Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with broadcast media production technologies (from high school or college /university) such as cameras, lighting equipment, video editing software, audio
  • Interest in system design strategies, signal flow, and media production best practices, network troubleshooting, VLANs, and LAN/WAN environments
