Job Summary
Broadcasting and Journalism Instructor needed for after-school, part-time sessions at partner schools. Lead hands-on, project-based media classes delivering instruction on storytelling, reporting, video recording and editing, on-camera presence, audio production and live streaming. Responsibilities include guiding students through original media projects (school news segments, interviews, podcasts, esports broadcasts), adapting lessons to different ages and skill levels, fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment, helping students develop communication and presentation skills, and coordinating with site staff to track attendance and session completion. Program runs approx. 10 weeks with 1–4 hours per week, on-site at a San Francisco area partner school, with compensation starting at $50+ per instructional hour depending on experience, program, and commute.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience in broadcasting, journalism, media production, or related field
- Experience working with students (teaching, tutoring, camps, etc.)
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Comfortable with basic video/audio tools and technology
- Reliable, professional, and comfortable in a school setting
