Job Summary
This role focuses on creating and coordinating bilingual (English–Japanese) content to support corporate and sales goals, including promotions, advertising, PR, events, and community initiatives for Sake School of America and Miyako Sushi and Washoku School. Responsibilities include writing, editing, and translating content for websites, newsletters, flyers, catalogs, and communications; leading content planning for websites and social channels; collaborating on integrated campaigns with the PR Designer; coordinating cross-functional PR campaigns and events; updating product catalogs; supporting HQ-to-branch communications; planning community events and cultural activations; drafting press releases and announcements; and participating in meetings and events. Requires 4+ years in PR/content/communications, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, bilingual English/Japanese fluency, and certification coursework within 1 year. Proficiency in MS Office and design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), familiarity with WordPress, and ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
- 4+ years of relevant experience in public relations, content creation, or communications
- Native-level English – Read/write/speak/listen; Business-level Japanese – Read/write/speak/listen
- Pass the Sake Adviser and Shochu Adviser certification courses within 1 year of employment
- Excellent English/Japanese writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- Familiarity with social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, ) and awareness of current social media marketing trends
- Basic knowledge of content management systems (WordPress, GoogleSite)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Japanese foods and liquors; knowledge of foodservice industry trends is a plus
