Job Summary
Medevac Captain responsible for transporting passengers and medical teams under Transport Canada standards, conducting flights with strict adherence to SOPs, completing preflight calculations (weather, NOTAMs, fuel, weight and balance), lifting and securing patients and cargo, briefing passengers, and maintaining ongoing flight watches with dispatch. Requires strong English communication, independence and teamwork, familiarity with safety management systems, and the ability to meet certification standards (ATPL, Instrument Rating, 1500 total hours with 500 PIC). Location-based postings across multiple Canadian bases (Winnipeg, Thompson, Sioux Lookout, Timmins, Thunder Bay, Toronto) with in-person work expectations; eligibility to work in Canada and security clearances are required. Additional qualifications include a valid passport, driver’s license, and willingness to travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Commercial Pilot License
- Category 1 Medical
- Group 1 Instrument Rating
- ATPL for 703/704 Medevac Captains
- 1500 Hours Total Flight Time, With 500 PIC
- Canadian citizenship or ability to work in Canada unrestricted
- Fluent in English
- Ability to obtain and maintain transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
- Criminal Record check and Child Abuse Registry as required
- Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations and SOPs
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness training considered an asset
