Job Summary
Med Tech provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents and assists with administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice. Responsibilities include documentating in the EMAR/MAR, conducting medication cart audits, communicating resident status to HCD/RN/LPN, assisting residents with meals and activities, coordinating move-in support, and adhering to policies. Must maintain knowledge of all policies and procedures, collaborate with nursing staff, and remain calm during emergencies. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of the Medication Aide Course, current CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push 25 lbs, CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days, and a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have completed the Medication Aide Course
- Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing
- Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually
- Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits
- Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually
- Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
