Job Summary

Provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents while administering prescribed medications within the established scope of practice. Report incidents involving residents, including care concerns, to appropriate individuals such as HCD, RN/LPN, or ED. Perform housekeeping duties like making beds, cleaning apartments and common areas, and assist residents to and from the dining room and activities. Respond promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts and check on residents who are ill. Assist in planning and conducting activity programs, ensure meal attendance, and communicate resident status, appointments, and transfers verbally and in writing. Complete medication cart audits, document all administration on EMAR/MAR, and re-order medications as needed. Maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • completed the Medication Aide Course
  • current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing
  • ability to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
  • ability to be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
  • ability to be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
  • ability to be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
  • ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • ability to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
  • ability to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
  • ability to be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile
  • ability to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
  • willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
  • ability to remain calm and competent during emergencies
  • ability to pass all medication observations annually
  • ability to satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned
  • ability to attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually
  • ability to attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings

Desired Qualifications

  • CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
