Job Summary

Provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents, including administering prescribed medications within the established scope of practice. Report incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals and perform housekeeping duties such as making beds and cleaning common areas. Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts and assist in planning activity programs. Conduct medication cart audits, document all administration on the EMAR/MAR, and communicate resident needs to the HCD. Maintain confidentiality, check on ill residents, and support new residents during move-in transitions. Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • completed the Medication Aide Course
  • both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing
  • satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually
  • satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned
  • attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually
  • effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
  • be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
  • be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
  • be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
  • be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
  • be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
  • be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile
  • be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
  • be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
  • attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings
  • be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
  • be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies
