Job Summary
Med Tech provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents of the community and assists with administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice. Responsibilities include medication administration, resident mobility assistance, housekeeping tasks, documenting resident status in Daily Log and EMAR/MAR, communicating care needs to the health care team, assisting with meal and activity engagement, and supporting move-in transitions. Strong emphasis on confidentiality, teamwork, and professional conduct. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of the Medication Aide Course, current CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, ability to pass medication observations and cart audits, ongoing medication education, and flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have completed the Medication Aide Course
- Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing
- Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually
- Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits
- Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
- Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
- Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
- Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
- Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
- Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
- Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
- Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
