Job Summary

Provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents, including helping them to and from the dining room and participating in activity programs. Administer prescribed medications within the established scope of practice, maintaining the medication cart, conducting audits, and documenting all administration on the EMAR/MAR and Daily Log. Report resident incidents, illness status, and exceptions to the HCD, RN/LPN, or ED, and promptly respond to all resident calls or emergency alerts. Perform housekeeping duties such as making beds and cleaning apartments and common areas. Maintain confidentiality regarding resident information and attend all required medication trainings and staff meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • completed the Medication Aide Course
  • both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing
  • satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually
  • satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned
  • attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually
  • effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
  • organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
  • contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
  • polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
  • able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs
  • able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
  • in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile
  • CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
  • able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
  • attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings
  • willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
  • able to remain calm and competent during emergencies
