Job Summary
Administer, pour, pass, and document all routinely prescribed medications per physician orders while observing the five rights for safe administration. Order medications from the pharmacy seven days prior to running out and notify the Wellness Director within 24 hours if delivery is delayed. Document each administration in the resident's medical record, date and initial the bubble pack, and record vital signs prior to administration. Administer PRN medications as ordered, report any medication errors immediately, and observe and report reactions or side effects. Assist with resident care tasks including toileting, grooming, bathing, feeding, and moving residents, while ensuring privacy, dignity, and safety.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of state approved Medication Administration training
- First Aid certification as required by the ALF regulations
- QMAP in the state of CO
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience administering medication in an assisted living setting
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procurement manuals, etc
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English
- Must be able to understand and follow written and oral directions
- Must show good judgement in recognizing symptoms indicative of a resident's change in condition
- Must be capable of making decisions with the interest of the residents at heart
- Must be supportive of company policies and decisions
- Must attend monthly in-service education and training within the community
- Minimum three years' experience in senior living preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer some previous experience in health-care
- Must have experience working in Assisted Living or Memory Care with a good work record
- Must have experience working in Assisted Living or Memory Care with a good work record
- A passion to work with seniors
- Previous experience with an Assisted Living community
