Job Summary
Medication Assistant administers and documents medications as delegated by a licensed nurse, and records vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and finger-stick glucose, all in accordance with facility policy and Wisconsin DHS regulations. Maintains medication area, adheres to the Five Rights of medication administration, communicates with residents and the interdisciplinary team, and supports resident care needs within certification and training scope.
Required Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the State of Wisconsin
- Completion of a Wisconsin-approved Medication Aide/Medication Assistant training program
- Demonstrated competency in medication administration and related tasks as required by Wisconsin regulations
- Ability to perform blood glucose testing via finger stick
- Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate records
- Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to resident safety
- Must meet all health, background check, and training requirements as required by Wisconsin law
