Job Summary
The Unit Technician/Clerk provides basic nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include maintaining an environment prepared for effective patient care, assisting in general orientation, and completing competency inventories. Candidates should be able to lift and carry weights as required, communicate effectively, and manage unpredictable workloads. The role requires current BLS certification and enrollment in a nursing program, alongside strong interpersonal skills and experience with computers. This position is casual and as needed, functioning in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Current BLS certification or within 6 months of hire
- Registered Nurse Aide (CENA) in the State of MI or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with successful completion of a nursing fundamentals course
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language effectively
- Computer knowledge and experience required
