Job Summary
Overnight Med Surg RN providing nursing care to hospital patients, including assessment, care planning, education of patients and caregivers, and discharge planning coordination. Responsibilities include collecting data, recognizing abnormal findings, updating care plans, educating patients on self-care and medications, and ensuring timely documentation in the EMR. Requires collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, adherence to policies, and ongoing staff education. Must hold Minnesota nursing license and be BLS-certified; ACLS and PALS are required or must be completed within specified timelines; TNCC training within 18 months of hire. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Schedule is full-time overnight (7pm–7:30am), with every third weekend and holiday.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a current Minnesota nursing license
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association) , ACLS or ability to complete ACLS within six months of hire, PALS or ability to complete PALS within six months of hire
- Registerd nurses caring for trauma admissions to the medical/surgical floor are required to complete a trauma training course within six weeks of hire and complete a TNCC course within eighteen months of hire
- American Heart (BLS) within first 3 months of employment
- One to two years experience as an RN preferred. Minimum one year hospital experience preferred
- Bachelor Degree preferred
