Job Summary

Provide evidence-based nursing care to prevent healthcare-acquired conditions and hospital readmissions while performing comprehensive assessments, collecting patient data from patients, families, and providers, and formulating care plans based on identified needs. Implement nursing interventions consistent with hospital policies and standards, evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes, and coordinate patient care quality and satisfaction. Maintain standard precautions during patient contact and handle contaminated materials safely. Work under physician direction and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to deliver compassionate care, assist with new staff orientation, and manage multiple priorities while communicating effectively with team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program
  • Current, valid Arizona RN license or compact state RN license
  • Current BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Basic EKG competency within 3 months of hire
  • PALS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within 6 months of hire
  • ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire
  • Basic EKG competency within 30 days of hire
  • NRP certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer
  • ACLS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within 3 months of hire/transfer
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. required within 6 months of hire/transfer
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitor Course: Basic course to be completed within 6 months of hire/transfer
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitor Course: Intermediate course to be completed within 12 months of hire/transfer
  • ACLS and PALS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within 3 months of hire
  • Emergency Severity Index (ESI) training required within 6 months of hire
  • TNCC required within 24 months of hire
  • ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Basic ECG within 3 months of hire
  • ACLS and PALS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience for incumbent hired into a full-time shift working a weekend, evening, or night shift
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in one or more of the following: Endo, Ortho, General, Urology, Robotics, Pulmonary or GYN, if hired into a seasonal position
  • Minimum one year of experience in an acute care or med surg setting
  • Basic EKG competency within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience for incumbent hired into a full-time shift working a weekend, evening, or night shift
  • ACLS and PALS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days of hire
  • Basic EKG competency within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse
  • ACLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire
  • ECG competency upon hire
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience for incumbent hired into a full-time shift working a weekend, evening, or night shift
  • Minimum one year of experience in an acute care or med surg setting
  • Basic EKG competency within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience for incumbent hired into a full-time shift working a weekend, evening, or night shift
  • Incumbent hired into a full-time shift and scheduled a weekend or evening shift will not have to take call
  • Maintains BLS/ACLS/PALS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross, TNCC, De-escalation techniques, NRP, Basic EKG, and ESI, as required, per RN position description for assigned area(s)
  • Able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills
  • Able to manage technical business equipment i.e., phone, fax, computer etc
  • Able to assist with the movement of an adult patient weighing up to 300 lbs
  • Able to care for patients with infectious diseases
  • Able to sit for 3-5 hours per day
  • Able to stand for 3-5 hours per day
  • Able to walk for 3-5 hours day
  • Incumbent must be able to: distinguish appropriate colors
  • Capable of consistently reaching and/or working above and below shoulder level

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in nursing
  • Experience working in respective clinical area
  • Certified Medical-Surgical Nurse
  • ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred
  • One-year acute pediatric experience
  • Certified Pediatric Nurse
  • Certified Critical Care Nurse
  • Cardiac Medicine Certified and/or Cardiac Surgery Certification for CVICU
  • One-year PCU experience
  • Two years acute care experience
  • Progressive Care Certified Nurse
  • Two years of recent labor, delivery, post-partum, and newborn experience
  • Inpatient Obstetrical Nursing Certification
  • Lactation Nursing Certification
  • CCRN or CEN
  • One year Rehabilitation experience
  • Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse
  • FIMS certification
  • One year of Hemodialysis experience preferred or one year of Critical Care experience
  • Certified Dialysis Nurse
  • ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Two years acute care experience
  • CNOR
  • CPAN and CAPA
  • One-year CCU, ICU or ED experience preferred
