Job Summary
Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients while serving as a primary or accountable nurse. Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management, and safely administer medications per hospital policy. Share responsibility for productivity through effective resource utilization and staffing management while complying with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. Actively participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, improvement initiatives, and peer review practices. Engage in professional development, continuing education, and mandatory training while integrating current evidence into practice. Demonstrate leadership and accountability for assigned group programming on the Physical Rehab Unit at Binghamton General Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Previous clinical nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory setting
- Current NY State RN license or Eligible and willing to obtain NY license
- CPR certification within 3 months of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
- Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
- Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS)
