Med/Surg Patient Care Technician

Job Summary
Provide patient-centered care in the Med/Surg unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Deliver delegated basic patient care services, assist with activities of daily living (meals, bathing, grooming, elimination), monitor and record patient information (vital signs, intake/output, height/weight, admissions data), support patient mobility (positioning, ambulating with walkers/crutches/canes, use of wheelchairs), collect specimens, and cross-train to unit clerk. Maintain safe, clean patient care environments and adhere to hospital policies and the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel. Follow evidence-based practices and communications (AIDET) to enhance patient experience. Nights shift available at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of start date
- No required experience
