Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for adult medical patients with diagnoses including small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients and coordinate care with other departments while evaluating the effectiveness of direct care givers. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Full-time schedule of 36 hours/week (7:00AM-7:30PM) with sign-on bonuses up to $10,000 for experienced nurses. This Med Surg 5W unit offers an environment to strengthen core skills and manage diverse medical needs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications

- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
