Job Summary
Float among all Med Surg units to provide patient care with complex needs, assuming full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Demonstrate initiative and clinical skills while adhering to Nursing Standards of Care and the Patient and Family Centered Care Model. Manage patient populations across specialties to build a versatile skillset and sharpen adaptability. Work rotating day/evening shifts within a 36-hour weekly block, including at least three twelve-hour weekend shifts for a Weekend Incentive Program differential.
Required Qualifications
- BSN
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure
- BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Membership in a professional nursing organization preferred
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
- Ability to demonstrate observational skills
- Ability to set priorities
- Ability to adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards
- 36 rotating day/evenings
- Part of our Weekend Incentive Program (WIP)
- WIP Nurses commit to work at least three (3) twelve (12) hour weekend shifts for three (3) out of (4) weekends during a four (4) week schedule block
- Work at least three (3) twelve (12) hour weekend shifts for three (3) out of (4) weekends during a four (4) week schedule block
- Receive a WIP differential of $9.00 per hour for all hours worked on the weekend
- WIP differential is in addition to any shift differential to which the nurse may otherwise be eligible
- Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts
- Responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual
- Demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care
- Directly responsible to a designated nurse manager, or supervisor
- Assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model
- Float amongst all of our units
- Provide care to our patients where needed
