Job Summary
Direct patient care on the Medical-Surgical Cardiac unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation within nursing standards. Provides education to patients and families on illness/injury management and post-treatment/home care, participates in patient safety, quality, and regulatory activities, collaborates with the interprofessional team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, and uses clinical nursing skills to address physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs. This role is safety-sensitive and aligns with the BJC RN Career Ladder, offering opportunities for progression and leadership development. The unit cares for adults with medical/surgical/telemetry needs, including pre- and post-cardiac catheterizations and vascular interventions; responsibilities emphasize professional development and adherence to standards of care.
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree (minimum)
- BSN degree (preferred)
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- Med Surg and/or Telemetry experience
- RN license
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred)
- Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree as minimum
- Magnet recognition experience not required but mentioned standard of care
