Job Summary
Perform venipunctures, process clinical laboratory specimens, and report results for diagnosis and treatment. Collect blood samples using aseptic technique, label specimens with unique identifiers, and track samples for transport to off-site reference labs. Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, maintain quality control logs, and reconstitute calibrators and reagents per manufacturer instructions. Utilize EMR to manage schedules, test orders, and results while adhering to strict confidentiality and safety standards. Requires valid Tennessee driver's license, basic computer skills, and phlebotomy experience. Variable hours, day shift, PRN/OCC.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Medical terminology
- Registration skills
- Phlebotomy skills or equivalent combination of clinical/clerical skills
- Valid Tennessee driver's license
- State mandated minimum insurance coverage
- Driving record meeting Covenant Health minimum standards
