Job Summary
Assist providers in performing office procedures, patient care duties, and documentation while maintaining smooth patient flow across multiple ambulatory locations. Acquire thorough patient histories, document preventative care, and review orders for completeness before patient checkout. Prepare examination rooms, obtain consents, and ensure patients receive clear instructions based on provider directions. Float to designated sites as needed to cover staffing shortages, accommodating shifts between 7am and 7pm Monday through Friday. Perform front desk duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in a medical practice environment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
- Reliable transportation
- Available to work any shift between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM
- Monday through Friday availability
- Ability to work in a fast paced and technically advanced environment
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Knowledge of medical technology
- Knowledge of procedural terminology
- Knowledge of diagnostic codes
- Ability to maintain a professional and patient care oriented attitude
- Flexibility with short notice regarding scheduled work site for day/week
Desired Qualifications
- Candidates with at least five (5) years of experience will be considered in lieu of diploma
- Multi-site and specialty experience
- Certified by any Medical Board of California Approved Medical Assistant Certifying Organizations
