Job Summary
Assist providers in family practice and specialty clinics with patient procedures, history taking, and preventative care while maintaining smooth patient flow. Float to designated ambulatory sites across locations based on staffing needs, accommodating shifts between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday through Friday. Perform basic functions including injections, immunizations, and diagnostic testing, while reviewing orders, obtaining consents, and ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. Prepare examination rooms and verify patient checkouts with summary plans.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in a medical practice environment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work in a fast paced and technically advanced environment requiring flexibility and adaptability
- Knowledge of medical technology, procedural terminology and diagnostic codes
- Ability to maintain a professional and patient care oriented attitude
- Must be flexible with short notice regarding scheduled work site for day/week
Desired Qualifications
- Candidates with at least five (5) years of experience will be considered in lieu of diploma
- Multi-site and specialty experience
- Certified by any Medical Board of California Approved Medical Assistant Certifying Organizations
