Job Summary
Join The Bristal Assisted Living as a Med Aide Wellness to provide essential support and hands-on care for residents. Responsibilities include assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), escorting them to meals and recreational activities, and ensuring safety and comfort. Candidates must be NY-Certified Nursing Assistants, Personal Care Attendants, or Home Health Aides, with a strong commitment to compassion and quality care. Prior experience with dementia care and the geriatric population is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- NY-Certified Nursing Assistant
- Personal Care Attendant
- Home Health Aide
- Must be able to speak and read in English
- Ability to follow instructions and establish personal care routines
- Basic understanding of dementia; patience and professionalism in redirecting residents
- Ability to adjust to different personality types and situations in positive ways
- Must always be reliable, caring and gentle in touch and demeanor
- Maintain an abiding respect for the elderly and remain calm at all times
- Must have or be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine, subject to legal accommodations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience assisting those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia is a plus
- Previous experience with geriatric population preferred, providing assistance with ADLs
