Job Summary
Administers oral and topical medications to residents under physician orders and licensed nurse supervision, following the five rights; may take vital signs, document administration, observe for reactions, dispense PRN meds, and account for narcotics; maintains medication carts/rooms, participates in QA meetings, and may supervise other nursing assistants. Requires state Nursing Assistant certification and state medication administration certification; strong adherence to regulations, policies, and safety in a Skilled Nursing setting.
Required Qualifications
- State certification as a Nursing Assistant
- State approved medication administration certification (where required)
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
