Mechatronics Teacher

Job Summary
Lead the development and launch of a new Mechatronics and Advanced Manufacturing Career Technical Education pathway in Cincinnati Public Schools. Develop multi-year curriculum, design lab environments, and install equipment while aligning instruction to Ohio CTE standards and industry credentials. Collaborate with industry partners, employers, and school staff to secure program approval, recruit students, and establish work-based learning opportunities. Begin with program planning and no assigned students, transitioning to direct instruction in robotics, automation, PLCs, and industrial maintenance for the second year. Monitor student progress toward credentials and refine the pathway based on employer feedback and performance data.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain the appropriate Ohio Department of Education and Workforce CTE teaching license aligned to Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technologies, Engineering Technologies, Industrial Maintenance, Robotics, Automation, or a related field
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and industry experience in advanced manufacturing, mechatronics, robotics, automation, industrial maintenance, engineering technologies, or a related field
- Ability to develop and deliver hands-on technical instruction in a lab-based learning environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, school staff, district staff, industry partners, and postsecondary partners
- Ability to meet all district employment, background check, licensure, and onboarding requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Industry experience in robotics, automation, PLCs, industrial maintenance, CNC, CAD, electrical systems, mechanical systems, or advanced manufacturing
- Experience teaching, training, supervising, mentoring, or coaching youth or adult learners
- Experience with industry-recognized credentials such as OSHA 10, MSSC CPT, FANUC Robotics, SOLIDWORKS, or related manufacturing credentials
- Experience developing curriculum, lab procedures, safety systems, employer partnerships, or work-based learning experiences
- Knowledge of Career Technical Education, Ohio CTE program approval, WebXam or technical skill assessment systems, CTSOs, and industry credential reporting
