Job Summary
Integrate retrofit autonomous control systems onto row crop and utility tractors by designing and validating electrical cable harnesses, reading schematics, and developing embedded software in C++ or Python. Create software and hardware interfaces for sensors, actuators, and vehicle communication networks, then perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting in both laboratory and field environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, manufacturability, and performance while documenting designs and supporting field deployments. This role bridges mechanical, electrical, and software engineering disciplines to build a robotic machinery platform that delivers Farming-as-a-Service solutions, requiring a hands-on approach to solving cross-disciplinary problems in an Illinois-based venture-backed company.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- An entrepreneurial attitude with a keen eye for detail
- Organized, disciplined, and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Industrious – can drive tractors, trucks, and anything with four wheels or willing to learn
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must not require work visa sponsorship
