Job Summary
The Mechatronics Engineer will be responsible for the design, integration, and optimization of industrial automation systems to enhance waste processing operations. Key tasks include analyzing workflows, improving efficiency through automation, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role demands expertise in industrial automation technologies, control system design (PLC and HMI), and proficiency in SolidWorks for designing factory layouts. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage projects autonomously.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Mechatronics)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Automation Engineering role
- Demonstrated hands-on experience as a mechanical or mechatronics engineer or other relevant profession
- Expertise in industrial automation technologies and control system design including PLC and HMI programming
- Process optimization use of lean principles to improve workflow, cycle times and reduce waste
- Understanding of electrical and machine safety standards including those set by OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and ISO
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including troubleshooting of interdisciplinary issues arising from working with multiple vendors
- Knowledge and experience in SolidWorks (Including 2D drawings, 3D solid modelling, sheet metal modelling, assemblies, configurations, BOMs, etc.)
- Ability to coordinate and manage projects
