Job Summary

Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain mechatronic systems integrating mechanical, electrical, and software principles for commercial landscaping platforms. Direct the daily activities of embedded software, mechanical, harness, electronics, and system engineers while mentoring them on policies, procedures, and technical integration issues. Own cross-disciplinary subsystems to ensure machines operate as unified systems, evaluating designs for manufacturability, performance, cost, reliability, and field serviceability. Establish functional requirements and design specifications, then review proposed solutions against them. Partner with vehicle integration, autonomy software, and field teams to resolve commissioning and deployment issues, while tracking project scope, schedule, and budget to meet milestones within approved limits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
  • 5 years of individual contributor experience as a Mechatronics Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Robotics Engineer, or other related engineering field
  • 3+ years of experience managing teams of engineers in mechatronics development
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechatronics principles, including mechanical design, electrical systems, control systems, and embedded software
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for mechanical design, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and simulation software
  • Experience with embedded systems programming and software development, including proficiency in C, C++, or similar languages
  • Working knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture, wiring harness design, and Controller Area Network (CAN) based communication
  • Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies
  • Strong project management skills, particularly with complex cross-disciplinary projects
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across engineering disciplines, field teams, and customers

Desired Qualifications

  • Preferred experience working in Robotics, Automation, or a similar field with regards to the Landscaping industry
