Job Summary
Lead the assembly, testing, and maintenance of advanced mechanical systems and components to meet strict specifications. Assemble major structures, perform part-fitting operations, translate blueprints into assemblies, and conduct precision drilling, bonding, and structural fabrication. Guide a team of technicians through soldering, harness routing, inspection, in-process testing, and precision cleaning while ensuring all work adheres to PPE, shop safety, 5S, FOD, and ESD protocols. Operate calibrated tools to verify components meet specified tolerances and troubleshoot mechanical issues independently or collaboratively.
Required Qualifications
- Typically 12+ years of experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with general best shop practices, including PPE and shop safety requirements
- Ability to perform master-level equipment setup and maintenance activities
- Display mechanical aptitude and hand tools/precision tools competency
- Unparalleled expertise in precision cleaning
- Knowledge of 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness
- Ability to conduct verification/troubleshooting of own work and lead others
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Master understanding of mechanical assemblies, soldering, harness routing, inspection, in-process testing, precision cleaning, and structural fabrication
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
- Must be able to work in restrictive spaces
Desired Qualifications
- Certifications: IPC & J-STD
- A&P License
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
