Job Summary
Perform all mechanical tasks in a safe manner per plant management and EHS direction, including troubleshooting daily machine issues and supporting medium and long-term expense and capital development projects. Utilize expertise in pneumatics, hydraulics, pipe fitting, welding, and pumps to maintain critical systems such as water, oil, and compressed air utilities. Install bearings, align equipment using laser systems, and ensure housekeeping and safe work habits are maintained during all operations. Interact extensively with production and maintenance teams to enhance day-to-day plant operations while mentoring less-experienced mechanics. On-call duty is required as needed.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum of two (2) years related experience
- Able to lift and handle up to 50 pounds
- Able to climb and work at elevated heights
- Able to learn and use computer software to utilize the Maximo CMMS
- Able to work around the chemicals and environment present in both the Shingle and Nonwoven Plants
- Must be able to effectively communicate written and verbally
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer sponsored visa (work permit)
