Job Summary
Conduct complex mechanical and machinery maintenance activities at Golden Pass LNG safely and competently without supervision. Prioritize work through risk-based selection to ensure plant integrity, while providing on-the-job training to less experienced technicians. Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance on rotating equipment using diagnostic tools and technical manuals. Troubleshoot mechanical issues impacting safety or production, and provide expert input during toolbox meetings and planning sessions. Ensure adherence to management systems and safety protocols, including SIMOPS considerations and proper isolation procedures. Document all work accurately in the CMMS and report bad-actor observations. Work 10-hour shifts in Texas weather or the control room, with potential overtime during emergencies. Requires a valid DOT driver's license and five years of experience maintaining large rotating equipment in a process plant.
Required Qualifications
- High school and/or technical college diploma
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a mechanical technician maintaining large rotating equipment machinery in a large process plant
- In-depth knowledge of plant mechanical equipment and machinery
- Good understanding of machinery controls (Motor controls, GE Speedtronic and Compressor Controls)
- Understanding of process safety and inherent risks of working in a hydrocarbon environment
- Competent at troubleshooting and solving complex mechanical and process machinery problems to ensure plant safety and reliability
- Demonstrated knowledge of the SSHE/WMS/GPMS/CIMS/FIMS requirements
- Experience in the application of these management systems, including monitoring effectiveness and driving improvement
- Fully conversant with all safety and work permitting process and procedures, HAZOP Program, Incident Reporting, and Environmental Response
- Driven to achieve best-in-class mechanical and machinery reliability, dependability, safety and integrity results
- Self-starter with ability to work strategically under little direction
- Able to navigate through HMI displays on various types of equipment
- Strong attention to details
- State issued Current and Valid Driver's License – Pursuant to PHMSA, this is a DOT covered position with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining thereof
- Covered task qualification
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- May be outside in typical Texas weather for 10-hour shifts with periodic health breaks and/or in LNG Plant control room
- During emergencies and process upsets, potential exists for overtime past the normal 10-hour shift
- Sufficiently physically fit to endure working conditions stated above
