Job Summary
Mechanical Technician role focusing on building services for the EKC facility in Hatfield. Responsible for the reliable and compliant operation of estate-wide mechanical and electrical services, planning and undertaking routine maintenance, and delivering high standard building services across the estate. Requires a mechanically biased technician with electrical experience to manage AHU/FCU and chilled water systems, motor controls/relay logic, CMMS and BMS usage, interpretation of technical drawings, and adherence to Safe systems of work. The role includes on-call duties on a staggered schedule (07:00-16:00 or 09:30-18:00) with on-call allowances, and flexible hours as needed. Emphasis on English communication, safety, and multi-skilled capabilities in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. Based at the EKC facility in Hatfield, reporting to the Estates Engineering Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical engineering, BS7671 & C&G 2391 - Essential
- Mechanical engineering (full-term apprenticeship) - Essential
- Use of computer (Windows OS) - Essential
- Good awareness of Health and Safety - Essential
- Multi-Skilled in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering - Essential
- Experience in domestic and low temperature hot water systems (LTHW) - Essential
- Motor controls and relay logic - Essential
- AHU’s, FCU’s and chilled water systems - Essential
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals - Essential
- Willingness to work outside standard hours - Essential
- Experience of CMMS and BMS systems - Essential
