Job Summary
Design, develop, and detail Hydraulics Systems in compliance with technical, performance, and regulatory requirements while performing trade studies to optimize architecture, function, weight, cost, and manufacturability. Serve as the primary design point of contact for Hydraulics, Brake Control, and Steering Control Systems, coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to define and validate mechanical and electrical interfaces. Develop Zonal Reference Models, Interface Control Models, and Interface Control Drawings to clearly define system boundaries, and create production-level digital product definitions using CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE. Support certification efforts for Part 23 and ATA 32 requirements and provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers. This six-to-twelve-month remote contract requires a B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with seven years of experience in Part 23 business aircraft systems and knowledge of FAR Part 23 certification processes.
Required Qualifications
- B.S., in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
- 7+ years of industry experience in a closely related field
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Systems and equipment common in modern Part 23 / Part 25 business aircraft, specifically Brake-By-Wire, Steer-By-Wire, and Hydraulics Systems
- Strong knowledge of FAR Part 23 certification requirements and processes pertinent to Mechanical Systems
- Experience with ASME Y14.100 Drawings and Y14.5 GD&T
- Experience with model and drawing checking, engineering part and model release, and engineering change process
