Mechanical Support Manager

Job Summary
Leads and manages a mechanical engineering team to provide robust mechanical operations support across renewable-energy portfolios (hydro, wind, solar). Develops engineering solutions and technical designs for mechanical assets; reviews and approves mechanical engineering plans to align with company standards; oversees fabrication, testing, repairs, asset-condition assessments, and predictive analysis of mechanical components. Drives continuous improvement, risk management, and maintenance strategy; manages budgets, schedules, contractor and supplier selection, and performance metrics. Provides technical guidance for installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of mechanical systems, and ensures compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Collaborates with Operations & Maintenance, procurement, and project management to optimize plant performance, reliability, and life-cycle costs, contributing to sustainable energy operations and community impact.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Registered Mechanical Engineer (Professional Mechanical Engineer preferred)
- 5-10 years of experience in renewable energy technologies, operations and maintenance (hydro, wind, solar)
- Experience with vibration, oil-rotating machines, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience in asset management and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) is a plus
- Leadership experience (at least 5 years) and project/vendor management experience
