Job Summary
Oversee design and specification of HVAC, central utility plant, and thermal distribution systems while providing mentorship to design staff and department managers. Interface with code officials, contractors, and clients to deliver full-range mechanical services, and lead the development of office mechanical standards and growth strategies. Evaluate project opportunities for Go/No Go determinations, resolve engineering conflicts, and provide technical guidance on cost estimates. Ensure compliance with corporate quality management processes and lead the Mechanical community of practice across offices. This role reports to the MEPS Service Line Chief Engineer and requires a Florida Professional Engineer license with 20+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering systems.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- 20+ years of progressive technical experience in one or more of the following: HVAC system design, central utility plant design, thermal distribution system design (chilled water, steam, heating hot water, etc.), control system design and commissioning
- Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Active licenses in multiple states, or the ability to obtain additional licenses
- Experience developing, growing and leading mechanical engineering teams
- Experience should include technical oversight of multiple concurrent projects
