Mechanical Structural Analyst Engineer

Job Summary
Undertake design calculations in accordance with industry standard design codes, inclusive of evaluating earthquake loads. Generate, evaluate, and select the most appropriate design based on cost while ensuring compliance with customer and UK regulatory specifications. Work with the Computer Aided Design (CAD) team to produce equipment fabrication drawings and present designs at internal Technical Reviews. Produce equipment specifications and collaborate with fabricators to realize the designs. Requires a minimum Security Check (SC) clearance and UK national status. This 12-month contract is based in Warrington with a hybrid schedule of minimum 3 days office working.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with using and understanding the requirements of codes like Eurocode 3 and BS EN 1090
- Experience of designing access platforms for Mechanical Equipment and/or fairly complex steelwork for pipe supports
- Able to plan their work effectively
- Sufficient knowledge of standard steelwork components e.g. materials, profiles, strength, joint designs etc. and how they should be used to maintain compliance to the design codes above
- Practical knowledge of the installation of steelwork components at site
- Good working knowledge of tolerances
- Able to work closely and communicate effectively with project team members
- Minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance
- UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non-ITAR country
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of the permissible stress design codes for structural supports to piping is preferable but not essential
