Job Summary
Mechanical Specialist I at Kent Worldwide Pet Plant in Muscatine, IA. Maintain plant-wide process equipment and safe maintenance practices; troubleshoot issues, repair or replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, and other mechanical components; perform repairs on various conveyors; complete routine maintenance tasks; document activities in CMMS; follow safety protocols and 5S/houskeeping; communicate observations to Maintenance and Production leadership; support off-shift, weekend, and holiday coverage; occasional travel between two plants (5-10%).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required
- Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program with 0-2 years of experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of mechanical and operational systems including gearboxes (Dodge, Eurodrive, Falk, Reeves, Sumitomo), motors and bearings, material handling (belt, drag, screw, bucket elevators, conveyors), process equipment (pellet, roller, hammer mills, mixers, baghouses, fans), packaging systems (bagging, bundling, boxing, palletizing, wrapping); basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel), CMMS (AX/Dynaway), EDMS, and ability to read and apply technical drawings
