Job Summary
Plan, schedule, and execute capital projects from start to finish while accruing resources and coordinating team members and third-party contractors. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables to support business objectives, then provide quality and timely field engineering technical support to plant managers regarding equipment design, maintenance, and spare parts procurement. Draft budget proposals, recommend changes, and investigate safety issues related to plant equipment to develop recommended solutions. Maintain a zero-incident safety culture by working in compliance with all corporate, plant, local, state, and federal rules while ensuring outside vendors adhere to the same standards.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical engineering degree, or degree in related engineering field or a combination of education and experience required
- Minimum 3 years of related industrial experience, including planning, specification, and implementation of engineering design projects
- Technical and process management skills
- ability to work multiple projects simultaneously
- strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- ability to solve problems while exhibiting practical judgment and realistic understanding of the issues involved
- ability and confidence to make decisions relating to role's accountabilities
- Ability to exercise discretion when determining if direction from manager is needed
