Job Summary
Diagnose, repair, and replace defective mechanical components including gas turbines, steam turbines, diesel engines, and piping systems within a thermal power plant. Test faulty equipment, align machinery according to specifications, and perform preventive maintenance based on technical manuals. Maintain records of repairs and calibrations on work orders, submit purchasing requisitions in the MAXIMO system, and identify necessary spare parts. Collaborate with external contractors on investment projects while complying with all plant safety procedures and regulations. Read piping and instrumentation diagrams to ensure proper system operation and mechanical isolation.
Required Qualifications
- Recognised technical qualification in mechanical
- Knowledge of engineering practices, functions and processes involved in the operation and maintenance of a CCPP
- Good knowledge of typical mechanical tools and equipments
- Knowledge of different maintenance types used in the industry
- Three years experience as mechanics in industrial environment, preferably in a CCPP environment
- Handling of machine tools (e.g. lathe) for modifications, repair and production of small spare parts
- Able to work unsupervised on mechanical tasks at the Power Station as needed
- Effective communication with employees at all levels of the organization
- Read and understand the system's technical manuals and piping and instrumentation diagrams
- Read, understand, and comply with all plant safety procedures and regulations
- Understanding of PTW system
