Job Summary
Mechanical Service Technician II responsible for startup, checkout, and troubleshooting of HVAC and building automation systems on service-installed jobs. Performs mechanical inspections (boilers, chillers, pumps, etc.), final adjustments and calibration per owner’s manuals, and documents findings and expenses; reviews costs/scope and supports start-ups of automation systems; handles service agreements and on-site emergency calls. Provides customer service by responding to service calls, documenting repairs and improvements, and presenting a professional image. Supports technical assistance and training for other specialists, including turnover training for customers. Requires safety awareness, travel through Kansas and the Midwest, and ongoing CEU completion; possesses strong knowledge of HVAC/mechanical/electrical concepts, reading safety and maintenance documents, and field diagnostics. Certifications include EPA universal refrigeration handling, a valid driver's license, and journeyman or master mechanical license.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum five years of experience in an HVAC capacity
- Minimum five years of experience in a mechanical capacity
- Minimum five years of experience in systems including on-the-job experience as a systems/mechanical specialist
- Valid driver license
- Block journeyman or master mechanical license
- EPA universal refrigeration handling certificate
