Job Summary
Repair and troubleshoot complex industrial electronics including drives, PLCs, power supplies, and motors at the component level using tools like Huntron trackers and multimeters. Solder and desolder circuit board components, design fixtures, and perform warranty and root-cause analysis. Review standard repair processes to develop cycle time improvements and set testing methodology standards. Communicate with customers, travel to sites, and assist less experienced technicians while processing service reports. Achieve year-over-year productivity increases and participate in quality initiatives to monitor processes.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- more than ten years related experience and/or training
- twelve years equivalent combination of education and experience
- Expert understanding of electronic components and how they are used in the industry
- advanced level of electronic and/or mechanical skills
- Ability to: read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to: write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to: speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to: calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to: apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to: apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to: deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must possess an advanced level of electronic and/or mechanical skills
- Must have a good driving record
