Mechanical Quality Inspector - Part-Time

Job Summary
Conduct First Article Inspection and coordinate receiving, in-process, and final product inspections by evaluating parts against customer and Engineering drawings. Document results in the Quality System Network and maintain measurement equipment. Assist Engineering and Manufacturing in investigating non-conformities while adhering to quality management systems and safety procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Requires GD&T experience, proficiency with gauging tools, and 5+ years in aerospace or ISO 9001/AS9100 environments. Part-time schedule with $23-27/hr compensation.
Required Qualifications
- GD&T Experience Required
- Experience with inspection equipment such as - Mics, Calipers, Opticals, and Micro heights
- Extensive knowledge of software and database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored jobs, and error replication
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to create test plans and cases from specifications or verbal communications
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Aerospace experience OR AS9100
- High school diploma or GED required
- Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language
- Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Regularly required to sit, stand, or walk the duration of shift, 8-10 hours
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach or bend
- Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision in which 20/20 vision or corrected vision to 20/20 vision is required
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally required to work on the production floor as it relates to the job duties and responsibilities
- The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud when working in the plant, in which hearing protection is required
- Due to ITAR regulations, only U.S. persons—defined as U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), and U.S. nationals—are eligible for this position
Desired Qualifications
- Lean Manufacturing is a plus
- 5+ years preferred experience and /or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
